The Law of Faith

If someone asked you, are you ready to live a life of success and happiness, would you answer yes? I imagine you would. And yet, most of us are stuck at a happiness set point. We self sabotage the good things that come into our lives or worse, we never even take the leap that we KNOW deep down inside will start us on the path to our dreams. As Gay Hendricks discusses in The Big Leap, how often do you get sick right before a huge presentation? Or you get the raise and immediately get in a fight with your partner. He posits we spend our times stuck in lower states not really fulfilling our potential and that we tend to get in our own way.

I would take it a step further and suggest that the set point we’re comfortable with is also a reflection of our nervous system. Once we start to bring more into our lives, more love, more money, more success, if our nervous system isn’t used to this bigness, it treats these situations like a threat. The dis-regulation that follows can cause us to freeze, to leave, to become paralyzed, almost anything but welcome the success we’re starting to see.

We need to believe everything we want already exists, or we wouldn’t have the desire painted on our heart. But we also need a practice to keep the faith and to build the self trust necessary to hold on to what we’re getting. Most of all though we need to know deep down, what we want already exists, and it is already written.
